Wall-mounted picture rails
A wall-mounted picture rail is a slim aluminium track fixed near the top of the wall, usually just under the cornice. Artwork hangs beneath it from near-invisible wires with adjustable hooks, so every piece can be moved sideways, raised or lowered without touching the wall again.

How a wall-mounted rail is installed
We measure the wall, mark a level line near the ceiling, locate the framing or set masonry anchors, and fix the track in continuous lengths. Wires are dropped in from the ends and slide freely along the track. As a guide, 4 to 5 metres of track takes about one hour to install. We work with minimal mess and clean up afterwards.
Wall-mounted or ceiling-mounted?
Wall-mounted suits rooms with cornices, picture rails or where the ceiling can't be drilled. Ceiling-mounted suits full-height walls, raked ceilings and spaces where you want the track to disappear completely. If you're unsure, we advise on site.
Why it beats hooks and nails
A single track replaces every hook you would otherwise hammer in. Nothing needs patching or repainting when you rehang, artwork sits perfectly level, and heavy pieces hang from a load-rated fixing rather than a nail in plasterboard.

- How much weight can a wall-mounted picture rail hold?
- Our systems carry substantial framed work. Load depends on the track, wire and wall substrate, so we confirm a safe working load for your specific install on site.
- Can the track be painted to match my wall?
- Yes. The track is supplied in white or silver and can be painted the same colour as the wall so it visually disappears.
- Will it damage my walls?
- The track needs a small number of fixings along its length. After that, no further holes are ever needed, which is far less damage than hanging each piece individually.
